Weenie Roast

What would a trip to Iowa be without a weenie or marshmallow roast?!? We tend to do this on the 4th of July or the night before we leave, as it is one of the kids' favorite things and end the trip with a bang. This trip we joked that we were one night off ... we could have made it a 4th of April cookout, but alas, it was April 3rd! Anyway, here are two weenies ... and their hot dogs too! Oh, NOT NICE! Dennis and Tyler made a good team though. And Grandma was a bit help to Abby. Both kids thought they could do this on their own, but if so, we would have had frozen dogs, charred dogs or severly burned children. Our kids don't cookout very much!

After dinner, Grandpa tested his new toy ... which had JUST arrived! It's going to make some of the farm chores much less burdomsome, and maybe a bit more fun! I must say, Bill had quite a time taking us all on joyrides across the soon-to-be-planted fields! Tyler and Abby would have gone all night, but it was getting late. Oh, those boys and their toys!

So what's the new farm toy called?

Hey...that "Anonymous" one was from me. Must have hit the wrong button!

We didn't give Bill's "new farm toy" a name ... but I think it's called a "mule." Abby and Tyler were calling it "Grandpa's new car" and Martha called it an ATV at one point. Whatever the name, it WILL be helpful ... and fun!
