Gotta love Grandmas ...

Who else would make you muffins every single day during your visit? Grandmas are great! Tyler said he wanted jam on his this morning, because that's what the moose did in the book, "If you Give a Moose a Muffin." Funny. Anyway, they ARE yummy! It's funny how there are things grandparents do that parents don't ... or rather won't! It's also interesting to see what keeps the kids entertained at a grandparent's house. I've witnessed this with my parents. They have a whole basket of "toys" that are just odds and ends, but the kids run to them every time we go there. Same here in Iowa. Martha has a half dozen music boxes that the kids just adore. In fact, they like getting all of them going at the SAME time! Earlier today, we discovered a set of World Book encyclopedias in the spare bedroom, and the kids found those fascinating. And tonight, the "toy" of the hour was a set of strap on "headlights." I do mean "head" lights. Martha says they can be used for nighttime bike riding, or reading in bed. Abby immediately put one on and started reading a book (of course!) while Tyler was running around like a nimcompoop (sp?) pretending to be God knows what! What other treasures will we find before the visit is done?
