Iowa ... Visit with the Miller Family
When we're in Iowa, we always try to meet up with Dennis' roommate from college - Kevin Miller, and his family. This is about the fourth year in a row they have hosted us for a pre-4th of July dinner at their home. Not only do our kids have a wonderful time playing with Abby and Zach Miller, they also learn a lot. Beth Miller is an inspiration, as she has her very own vegetable garden. On the way TO the Miller's house, our kids were pestering us for fruit snacks and goldfish, and on the way home they were begging for fresh peas ... in the pod!
After a few demonstrations from the Miller kids, Abby and Tyler were opening them all by themselves.
Beth's poor garden was raided by kids who would rather have vegetables than...
A jello jiggler dessert in the shape of an American flag! Martha and I collaborated on this one, and we were quite proud of our creation!
We had a great visit with the Millers. By the end of the night, the kids were rolling down hills on their back lawn. Too bad we don't live closer!
