'O Little Town of ...

... "Beth-la-HAM." That's what Tyler kept saying! It was so funny, but try as we might to correct him, he couldn't pronounce Bethlehem correctly. However, both kids understood the meaning behind this event we took them to last night. It's a living nativity that the church up the street puts on each year. You can drive through in your car, as we did back in 2006, or jump on a hayride (which is how we did it last night). The whole tour lasts just a few minutes, but you get to see the Angel, Gabriel, visiting Mary ... the Wise Men meeting with King Herod (Tyler did not like this "mean guy") ... a second Mary and Joseph trying to find room in the inn ... and finally a third Mary in this famous scene above. Abby leaned over in the hayride and said, "Mommy, I think Jesus is just a doll!" Don't you love how my quickly-taken shot happened to catch the angel RIGHT behind Joseph, so he looks like he has four arms!
