Under the Big Top!

Today was a BIG day! We had to rush home from school and get Tyler down for a quick nap, because we had tickets for the circus! Grandma and Grandpa Schnittker treated the four of us to some great seats at the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey circus (thanks guys!). This afternoon's performance began at 4:00, with a preshow, down in the ring an hour before. We had a GREAT time! At the preshow, Abby and Tyler were outfitted in authentic circus costumes, Dennis tried to juggle scarves (he did a great job!), Tyler really enjoyed the jump-roping gymnasts, and Abby got to try the trapeze! Unfortunately, we didn't get too many pictures during the show itself. We were busy being entertained, or you might say we were preoccupied with keeping our children from falling through the railing ... down to the Civic Center floor! They loved the front-row seats, but seemed to want to get in the ring themselves. We did get a shot of the SIX white tigers (scary!), but missed the two elephants (Tyler's favorite act) and the performing weiner dogs (Abby's favorite act). Dennis' favorite act was two men catapulting themselves around a ferris wheel-type piece of metal. Tyler had to assure me that the man had not fallen as he ran around the OUTSIDE of the wheel (Tyler kept giving me hugs because I was truly covering my eyes!)

Such an exciting time. You guys are lucky ducks! I'll be waiting to hear what Dennis is doing with the scarves...hmmmmm? The one picture looks like they are stretching Abby. I'll bet she grew a few inches hanging from that bar. Let's go shopping Abby! Tyler, I can only imagine how mezmerized you were...would love to have been there just to watch you! Great gift Martha and Bill!
