Teenage Mutant Ninja TYLER!

Actually, I guess it would be more appropriate to say "Todder" Mutant Ninja Tyler! This little costume was a recent addition to our dress-up box. I thought it was good to get some boy outfits in there ... but it also reminded me of when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were SO big back in the 90's! Anyway - Tyler brought me the bag and wanted help putting everything on ... then wore it for a few minutes (long enough for me to go and grab the camera) before he decided it was just "too much." Welcome to the world of accessorizing Ty!

FLASHBACK: February

Okay ... I said when possible, I would "flash back" to all of the fun stuff I missed sharing during my blog hiatus. Here are some shots of Abby's preschool class trip to the Florida Capitol in early March. One of the class units was on Florida history, so they did this to wrap it all up. The kids were all semi-impressed with the old capitol (some - Abby! - found the stained glass at the top of the rotunda more intriguing than others ... I just LOVE her one friend's bored expression as the tour guide explained the history of the building!) but they ALL enjoyed the elevator trip up to the the top (22nd floor) of the "new" capitol. Preschool is such fun ... I'm glad I get to keep experiencing it with Tyler, because seeing Abby bid it farewell last week was tough. But, more to come on that when I "flash back" again at another time!

Hammer Time!

Yes, I gave my kids a mallet this morning! They were helping me make a cracker crumb mixture to coat chicken tenders ... and BOY did they have fun!

Darling Daniel

How cute is our little nephew Daniel? I got one shot of him laughing, but I love the closeup that shows his beautiful blue eyes. Daniel was SO patient with the four "big kids" on this trip. I have a feeling he will be making his presence known the next time we see him. Hope he doesn't grow up too fast!

You saw WHO at the ZOO!?

On Tuesday, we visited our "zoo" ... which is actually a museum with a fair amount of animals, specific to the region. Zoo, or not ... it seemed to be a good activity to do with the Colorado Schnittkers. The kids loved seeing all of the animals - especially this alligator, who rarely makes appearances for us. But, it put on QUITE the show for our crew. He yawned and showed us all of his teeth. Uncle Kevin will have to share that photo, as I didn't have mine out and ready to shoot. Abby and Anna decided his (her?) name is "Ally Sarah!" We also had fun at the caboose, and during the animal encounter with a Gray Rat Snake. Look away Uncle Aaron, just look away! The kids were fascinated with the snake and enjoyed the chance to see it up close ... and touch it! A picnic at the park rounded out the trip, then we headed home for a rest ... and the mommies escaped for a pedicure. No photos of that, as we were too busy relaxing!

More Memorial Day Fun...

Haven't gotten a good shot of Daniel smiling (or laughing) yet ... but this picture I snapped of him as they arrived at the pool shows how precious he is (he'll be five months old on Friday). As you can see, the kids (young and old...er ones alike) had fun in the water. We practically had to drag them out and take them home to rest. You would have thought everyone would have passed out tonight at bedtime, but no dice! We had to nix plans for a sleepover after Anna and Abby came out of the room for about the 30th time! To preserve any energy they have left, we sent the Colorado Schnittkers back to the Little Yellow House for some R&R. Looking forward to a fun day tomorrow!

Colorado Schnittkers Visit Florida

Back from a LONG blog break! There are SO many photos we've taken that we haven't posted ... sorry! I think it's been overwhelming because I've wanted to go back and post what you all have missed seeing, but I'm going to have to pick it up from the present. Today, the Colorado Schnittkers (Kevin, Kym, Anna, Eric and Daniel) got to spend some time with the Florida crew. Here's a shot of the four movers and shakers in the pool at SouthWood. Daniel was taking an extra long snooze, recovering from a very tiring trip down from Alabama ... where they went to celebrate Kym's grandmother's 90th birthday. We had a great Memorial Day ... hope you did too. We'll try to post a photo a day ... maybe without much commentary (so it actually gets done), and when nothing of note happens that day, maybe I'll post a shot from April or earlier this month.
